It was a bit of a shock for her poor mother, but even as a newborn, Dora was happy, and it was hard to be upset for long. While at first her parents were confused, a quick check with the Healer confirmed that their coupling, despite Ted's 'dirty' blood, had produced a very rare Metamorphmagus. Dora's childhood was a happy one, and it was no surprise when she was accepted into Hogwarts. She worked hard, though she always managed to cause trouble. Still, she managed to graduate with the N.E.W.T.s she needed to get into Auror training. She worked hard for three years, and afterwards, she was brought into the Order by Mad-Eye Moody. She fought in the war valiantly, doing whatever she could. In the middle of it, she and Remus Lupin, with whom she'd fallen in love with, were married. Now that the war's over, Tonks is part of the rebuilding process, though she isn't officially associated with any organization. She and Remus had a son, Maxwell Remus Lupin, less than a year ago, and they've happily settled into a routine as a family.
